By Arabia Mountain Heritage Area Alliance (other events)

2 Dates Through Mar 26, 2022

ABOUT ABOUT

Celebrate this year's Monadnock Madness by sharpening your photography skills. During this exciting day, you'll visit Arabia and Panola Mountains as you learn different techniques to capture these dynamic landscapes and their beautiful plantlife. Veteran photographer Larry Winslett will lead this small, personal class. Larry is an expert nature photographer who has chronicled the natural world in many parts of North America.

COVID-19 safety protocols including social distancing, limited group size, and mask-wearing will be in place. We will update our protocols as needed to align with current CDC safety standards. This may include postponing or cancelling the event.

Schedule:

Arabia Mountain

9:30-12 - You'll spend the first part of the day focusing on landscape and macro photography at Arabia Mountain. For landscape shots, you don't necessarily need to spend thousands on a pro camera lens - learn how to get the best landscape shots with any lens you have!

Partway through the morning, we'll shift to macro photography. Learn how to take your close-up shots to the next level as we focus on the perfect subject for closeup shots, diamorpha. This tiny red plant is only a few inches tall but has a lot of personality.

For Arabia Mountain, please meet at the Davidson-Arabia Mountain Nature Center (3787 Klondike Road).

12-1:00 - Lunch, transit to Panola Mountain State Park

Panola Mountain

1-4:00 - We'll meet at the Panola Mountain State Park Nature Center and work on wildlife photography. We're sure to see native birds and possibly even white-tailed deer. You can also continue to practice your landscape and macro photography as we go along.

For Panola Mountain, please meet at the Panola Mountain State Park Nature Center parking lot (2620 Highway 155 SW)

This class is limited to the first 10 registrants. Current CDC-recommended COVID safety protocols will be in place, including social distancing and mask wearing. Registrants will receive detailed location and event information once they register. Please note that participants will be responsible to drive themselves from one location to the next.
